WHITE NOISE
The term white noise refers to the bouncing white patterns that used to appear on  television screens as you tried to tune into broadcast stations, a phenomena experienced in the early days of growing up in the Caribbean. This white noise is a body of work exploring the visual noise and cultural fragments of urban life. I've always been drawn to collecting photos of discarded objects and jotting down overheard phrases, along with collecting ephemera of pop culture. I feel they reflect something deeper about the time and place we live in. Once functional, these objects take on new personalities when removed from their original context. They often appear humorous or oddly vulnerable, but beneath the surface they speak an expansive language of class, culture, and social memory.
